Deodorized olive fruit oil is obtained by cold pressing olives and contains triglycerides of oleic acid, palmitic acid, and linoleic acid, and of stearine and fatty acids. This fatty portion is particularly similar to your skin’s lipids and so is particularly useful in strengthening the acid mantle. It also contains a vital unsaponifiable portion made up mainly of squalene, phytosterols, and certain terpene alcohols. The unsaponifiable portion of a vegetable oil or butter is the portion that cannot be transformed into soap. As such, it is a specific chemical category of fatty substances used in sunscreens and in the prevention of skin aging, particularly for the treatment of wrinkles, slackening of the skin, and stretch marks.
