Centella asiatica is a herbaceous plant indigenous to India and Madagascar and is also known as “tiger herb” because it is said that tigers use it to medicate their wounds. The leaves of centella asiatica are rich with triterpenoid saponin properties, which stimulate the fibroblasts (cells responsible for producing collagen) and promote circulation in the veins, and so are often used to complement cellulite therapy. The extract is also used by doctors to treat circulatory insufficiency, swelling, ulcers, and rhagades. It also enhances skin elasticity and tonicity.
