Organic grape leaf extract is an extract of the lobed, deciduous leaves of the common grape vine (Vitis vinifera). At the end of their life cycle, the leaves lose their normal green color and take on their typical red coloration before falling from the vine. The red cultivars of this plant feature bunches of dark purple grapes with a red pulp. From the seeds and skins of the grapes and from the leaves we get a rich phytocomplex of flavonoids, anthocyanins, resveratrol, polyunsaturated fatty acids, and vitamins that has been shown to possess antioxidant and endothelial protective properties, protecting the inner walls of the veins, reducing permeability, and maintaining their elasticity, which is highly useful in venous and lymphatic insufficiencies, in cardiovascular disorders, and for disturbances that involve circulatory problems with the eyes, particularly involving the retina. The leaf contains tannins that have astringent properties and, for all of these reasons, grape leaf extract is used in cosmetics to treat Rosacea.
