This is an anionic emulsifier of plant origin obtained from the esterification of glycerol with stearic acid and glyceryl stearate in combination with potassium and/or sodium stearate. It is primarily used as an emulsifier, emollient, stabilizer and texturizer in oil-in-water emulsions.
